Are you looking for the latest and greatest from Apple? Well, look no further! Apple has just released the second beta of iOS 16.4, which includes a plethora of new features and changes that iPhone users will love! Not only that, but they have also released updates to other software as well.
Today marks the release of iOS 16.4 beta 2 which is currently available to registered developer beta testers. The build number for this update is 20E5223e, and the update is arriving over-the-air (OTA) so you will be able to install it directly on your device by heading to the Settings app, then going to General, and then clicking on Software Update. If you are a public beta tester, you can expect the update a bit later in the week.
Now, let’s dive into all the new features and changes that are included in iOS 16.4 beta 2. First up, we have Roundup which is a great way for users to get a quick overview of everything that is new and different. Then we have the iPhone’s Lock Screen shortcut feature which allows you to quickly access certain features just by tapping on the screen. In addition, there is a new feature that tells you the battery consumption when using the always-on display.
Apple is also spicing things up by introducing new emoji for both the iPhone and iPad, as well as giving web apps access to notifications through the Push Notification feature. They have also brought back the HomeKit architecture which makes home automation easier than ever. Furthermore, iOS 16.4 has expanded 5G support to new regions, as well as for Google Fi users.
Siri is now available in Hebrew with iOS 16.4. This offers users in Israel the ability to quickly access the assistant in their native language. And that’s not all. This update now supports rich content previews for Mastodon posts when using iMessages. Apple is also making it simpler for developers to install betas on their devices, abolishing profile sharing.
Last but not least, we see the release of iPadOS 16.4 beta 2 (Build 20E5223e), watchOS 9.4 beta 2 (Build 20T5233d), tvOS 16.4 beta 2 (Build 20L5474e), and macOS Ventura 13.3 beta 2.
With beta testing progressing smoothly, it is expected that iOS 16.4 and all the other software updates will be released officially to the public by sometime in March or April.
