It’s been a long road, but the wait is now finally over. Bethesda has announced today that their highly anticipated open-world RPG, Starfield, will arrive exclusively on the Xbox platform on September 6th, 2023! To coincide with this announcement, the team has also revealed that they will be hosting a deep dive showcase on June 11th to give fans a much closer look at the game prior to its launch.
The announcement is accompanied by a brand-new trailer featuring some sneak peeks of the game’s gameplay as well as a few words from Todd Howard himself. The clips featured in this trailer are mostly off-screen shots of developers playing the game at Bethesda HQ, and while they still may be too early to judge the final aesthetic of the game, they do seem to point towards a much more polished version than the one we saw last summer.
Of course, this isn’t just big news for Starfield fans. It also means that Xbox will be unveiling their big summer showcase soon after the Starfield Direct. It’s likely that this showcase will be focused heavily on titles already available and much closer to release, offering a few higher profile titles for console owners to get excited about in the near future.
