Speculation nowadays is abuzz that Microsoft and Bethesda may unveil the much discussed Developer Direct livestream for their much awaited upcoming Science Fiction RPG, Starfield. What started as murmurs, came to light when the Video Games Chronicle’s Editor-in-Chief Andy Robinson announced a tweet that ignited the talks of the announcement for the showcase being imminent. With the reechoing of rumors from other major figures from the industry such as the YouTuber Rand Al Thor 19 and Windows Central Editor, Jez Corden in their recent Podcast; it has become evident that something might be coming up soon.
First announced at the 2018 E3 conference, Starfield is a first or third person space exploration game set in the 2330s, developed and trademarked by Bethesda as early as 2013. Players step into the role of a space explorer as part of an illustrious organization known as Constellation, who embarks on a journey to explore over 1000 planets, engage in space and ground battles, customize their ships and even establish colonies. After all these years, Bethesda promised to release Starfield sometime during the first half of the year 2021 but remained tight-lipped with a released date.
Lo and behold, series of unverified reports from industry insiders indicate that Microsoft and Bethesda might have been working diligently all these days to present something to their fans very soon. Hos rummagers have it that the announcement for the said developer direct could come in a matter of weeks and the showcase might take place in a month or two. Corden adds to the hearsay to have been privy to some knowledge of Starfield Direct likely to take shape in March or April and the game’s release might see the light of day in June 2021. What is notable is the corroboration from various sources, making the rumors all that more believable.
Starfield is due to release on PC and Xbox Series S/X in 2023 and hopes of its dedicated fanbase is at an all-time high. With all these rumors, it is sure to get more and more incredible as we come closer to its expected Microsoft and Bethesda’s Developer Direct Showcase.
