The much anticipated sequel to the widely popular game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is almost here. The game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to be released on April 28th, 2023 promises to be more exciting and thrilling than ever before!

One change that gamers are buzzing about is the addition of lightsaber wielding combat. Fans of the franchise have been longing for the ability to wield a lightsaber in a Star Wars game, and now they will get their wish.

The new gameplay shows us that gamers will now have the ability to wield the lightsaber and fight off their enemies with deadly precision. This change is a much needed one and fans of the franchise should rejoice! It is also apparent that the developers at Electronic Arts (EA) and Lucasfilm are paying close attention to detail as the lightsaber in its gameplay cuts through enemies with ease.

In earlier gameplay trailers it was quite apparent that the combat was a bit lackluster and lacked the depth desired by Star Wars fans. With this new gameplay, that has changed as now gamers will have the ability to battle against enemies with the lightsaber and dismember them as they see fit; something that fans have been wanting for a long time.

The lightsaber is an iconic piece of Star Wars genre and has become an emblem of the franchise. Its ability to cut through a door with ease or slice off limbs from enemies has made it the most recognizable weapon in the universe. Moreover, its lights and sound effects are so iconic that walking onto a set of a Star Wars movie or TV show gives a sense of nostalgia to even the grown adult actors.

Unfortunately for fans, in past Star Wars games, the lightsaber has felt weaker than it should and it often took a small army of stormtroopers to be defeated by a single Jedi. It also did not help that you were unable to using a lightsaber to slay your enemies or dismember them.

In light of this, fans of the franchise have grown weary and demanded a game that properly utilizes the lightsaber. Thankfully, the developers at Respawn have listened and they have devised a game that allows the lightsaber to feel powerful and deadly again.

The latest video released by IGN gives us a good glimpse into the new combat system that will be featured in the game. In it, viewers can see Cal Kestis battling scout troopers with his lightsaber. And not only that, throughout the video Cal is shown slicing and dicing his enemies as he pleases. This is an exciting development, as it gives players more control over the force and makes them feel like a powerful Jedi.

Kotaku reached out to EA and Respawn about this dismemberment feature, and their responses show how much the developers and publishers care about this game and its authenticity. EA and Respawn commented that “the footage is what it is,” and didn’t provide any additional comment.

This shows that the players may actually be getting the real thing. And, when a title to a game features a lightsaber and an antagonist wielding a lightsaber, developers need to pay attention and make sure that the lightsaber does not become diminished due to weak combat mechanics.

In response to this, Respawn has implemented new combat stances, such as defensive and aggressive, that are both powerful and deadly; allowing the players to feel like a true Jedi. Moreover, with this powerful new combat feature, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor looks to be a title that will surely stand out and be remembered.

The game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor not only looks to add more depth to the lightsaber combat, but also captivate Star Wars fans with an experience that will make them feel as if they are a real Jedi. Along with its beautiful landscapes, intriguing characters, and intense combat, the game is definitely going to be a title you won’t want to miss. So, if you’re a fan of Star Wars, mark your calendars for April 28th, 2023, when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will finally be released.
