As the official announcement for Apple’s latest mobile operating system – iOS 17 – approaches, the rumors surrounding the update’s features continue to grow. While we don’t yet have a full picture of what iOS 17 will bring to the table, we have an idea of the changes and new features that users could see when the update is finally released.
Today, Weibo has revealed some interesting new details about iOS 17, mentioned by a source with a previous record of accuracy – notably related to the features on the iPhone Lock Screen, Apple Music user interface updates, and more. Let’s dig a little deeper and explore the potential changes.

iPhone Lock Screen
The source suggests that iOS 17 could bring with it changes to the iPhone Lock Screen, allowing users to make further customizations than before. This could include the ability to share custom-made Lock Screen designs with others, updates to font structure, emoji-based wallpaper support and more. Interestingly, Apple Music users will also have the ability to view song lyrics straight from their Lock Screen, a feature that could be incredibly handy for the more artistically inclined.

Additional Updates
Aside from the above, more reports have suggested that iOS 17 will come with updates to Control Center, adding further customizability to the user experience. It could also see changes to the App Library, allowing users to create custom categories for their apps and folders, with the placement of apps no longer limited to four pages as it is currently. Additionally, iOS 17 is said to have the power to adjust the brightness of the flashlight – the iPhone’s torch – in small increments, rather than the three preconfigured options currently available.

Further Rumors
Previous sources, such as Bloomberg, have also pointed towards other updates iOS 17 could bring to the table, such as Side-Loading App support in the European Union region, Find My and Wallet app changes, as well as a new journaling app.

But we won’t know for sure until Apple’s WWDC – the Worldwide Developers Conference – 2023 reveals the full suite of features iOS 17 will bring with it. The event kicks off on June 5, so we won’t be waiting too long to find out.

It’s important to remember that these are all just rumors and should be taken with a pinch of salt. We know Apple will be making certain changes and rolling out new features with iOS 17, but until an official announcement is made, users should be taking this news as speculative.

It’s an exciting time to be an iOS user and we can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for us! Will your favorite features have made the cut? Keep an eye on further updates for further news and don’t forget to comment with your thoughts and predictions.
