Today marks an exciting day for PlayStation fans as Sony launches its highly anticipated PlayStation VR 2 system! Much improved from its predecessor, the PSVR 2 will include an expansive line-up of 40 plus games that can be enjoyed right out of the box.
To kick off the list, Free Lives will be releasing Gorn, a virtual reality gladiator smashing game that is heavy on the action. Nock: Bow + Arrow Soccer, developed by Vertigo Games, will also be entering the market in March as an intense sports experience that involves players using their archery and football skills to compete. Hellsweeper VR, also from Verto Games, is set to release later this year and gives players a “gravity-defying” experience with plenty of intensity.
Those who are looking for a narrative game should look no further than Sushi Ben by INAZ Interactive, in which the players attempt to keep the local sushi restaurant from going bankrupt. Another Fisherman’s Tale, which is the sequel to A Fisherman’s Tale, is also set to launch later this year.
If these narrative driven games aren’t quite your thing, Ragnarock and Unplugged: Air Guitar might be the titles to keep an eye out for. Ragnarock is a solo/multiplayer virtual reality rhythm game whose theme is based on the Viking culture. Unplugged: Air Guitar, designed by Zero Latency as a rock music game, will feature hits from some well-known artists like Ozzy Osbourne, The Offspring, and Weezer.
The new PSVR 2 system will also involve players in speculative swordfighting with the help of Swordsman VR and Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending. While Swordsmen VR is a realistic swordfighting game, Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending enables players to enjoy cocktail-making silliness.
This myriad of new games is sure to keep players engaged, as the new PlayStation VR 2 system is said to be “vastly superior” compared to its predecessors. With trailers available of all its launch window games, plus the reviews being generally positive, the PSVR 2 is sure to be a hit when it releases today, February 22nd, 2021, at a starting price of £530/€600/$550.
