It’s been nine long years since zombie-fighting game Dead Island 2 was first announced, and after getting lost in development hell for years, gamers got some good news when publisher Deep Silver announced that the game was finally going to be released on April 28th.
But fans of the game got an even better surprise when the publisher announced that the game had gone gold and was going to be released a week earlier than expected, on April 21st!
The much-awaited sequel to the original Dead Island is set in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, now a zombie-ridden hellscape. Players are thrust into the action and must use various weapons and tools to take down the living dead.
The developers have made sure to keep things exciting by including some unique and interesting features. For example, Dead Island 2 will be the first game to take advantage of Amazon’s new Alexa Game Control, which will allow users to control the game with their voice. With phrases like “Hey zombie” to catch their attention or “Get me my ax” to, shield yourself from the hordes of zombie, Alexa makes your immersive, realistic experience yet more dynamic.
What all of this means is that come April 21st, gamers will be able to get their hands on the zombie-killing game they have been waiting on for nine years. Not only will the game be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4, but it will also be on PC via the Epic Games Store for those who prefer to play on their computer.
So, if you’ve been waiting for this zombie-fighting game since 2014, mark your calendars! Dead Island 2 is going to be released on the 21st of April and you don’t want to miss out on all the action!
